A popular style of Basque folk music is the Trikitixa, which is a lively style of music played usually using a tambourine and an accordion. This was made popular by Joseba Tapia and Kepa Junkera, who are perhaps two of the Basque’s favorite Trikitixa artists.
Other instruments that are particularly connected with Basque music are the txalapart (a wooden cylophone), the txistu (a pipe) and the alboka (a double clarinet). Another Basque instrument is the txistu, which is a three-holed recorder played using one hand while the other hand is playing another instrument.
